Here is a strange story, assuming there are human to centaur transformation stories that aren't. The whole idea of transformation of any kind is unusual, especially transforming from one 'species' to another. But adding two legs and a tail (or just adding two legs as is the case in this story) and increasing one's weight 5 or ten times is not a common occurance for most humans.
In this tale, a young woman takes her friend to a special place. Both appear to be teenagers, maybe in high school. For the sake of good morals and legalities, we'll assume they are in their senior year and over eighteen years of age. The young woman, Shelly wants to share a confidence with her friend, Bobby. Shelly seems somewhat distant, as though something in the air, or the season is driving her to do someting. She senses something in Bobby that makes her feel safe in sharing her secret, her feelings, that this time and place bring out in her.
As Shelly thanks Bobby for coming with her to this 'special place', she shows him that she does, as rumor has said, have a tail. She shows it to Bobby, exposing a thick, soft, fully formed horse's tail growing at the base of her spine.
At this point, the story takes a very adult turn, so I won'd go into detail here. But the result is that both Shelly and Bobby take on 'equine' characteristics. Shelly takes on centaur form, and Bobby... well, he changes in a way that matches Shelly's, er... needs.
